Can I have your autograph?

When you sign your name, the squiggle you make on the paper is unique to you. The same applies to roulette dealers when they spin the ball. They each have their unique signature. Their spin, like a signature, is for the most part consistent. This is because, like signing your name, spinning the ball is mostly done sub-consciously. Finding a dealer’s signature is the key to predicting the winning number.

Casinos know this and it terrifies them. They spend hours training dealers to put a conscious effort in to varying their spin. Dealers being human don’t always oblige. What happens in reality is they get in to a routine. Roulette may be an exciting game for the players but for most of the dealer’s it’s boring. There are of course career dealers who will do their utmost to constantly vary their spin. Luckily for punters most dealers fall into the previous category.

Even the speed of the central wheel will vary little with many dealers. They tend to get into the habit of giving it a push before they spin. Both the spinning of the ball and the pushing of the central wheel become automatic reactions. This results in them spinning at constant rates. You don’t need to be a physicist to work out that this means the ball will travel an equal distance with each spin. If you can spot for example that the ball mostly lands around ten numbers from the last number spun, you’ve got a huge advantage.

You can quickly find the dealers with consistent spins by counting the number of revolutions the ball makes. Dealers who are varying their spin will make alternate short and long spins. Look for dealers who are mostly spinning the ball the same number of revolutions each time. Concentrate on gathering data from these dealers. Note the numbers spun and the number of revolutions.

One of the most crucial factors that many players forget when trying to use this system is the type of table. There are left-handed and right-handed tables. On the left-handed tables the dealer spins the ball with his left hand and on a right-handed table with his right hand. The spins made with the left hand will not be the same as those with the right hand. Therefore you need to separate your data.

Your choice of dealer will also affect your success. Novice dealers can be a good prospect. They’re concentrating on just keeping the ball in the wheel and not spinning it into the patron’s drinks. Some casinos are training casinos and will have more novice dealers. Newly opened casinos are also likely to have more inexperienced staff. Tired and bored dealers are also worth monitoring. Look for the ones yawning.

Analyse the data collected and select those dealers with the most predictable spins. In the course of your data gathering you may also be lucky enough to find a dealer whose regular spin does not hit the deflection bars. If you find such a dealer you will be able to more accurately predict the winning number.

Place bets on a range of numbers around your prediction. The area of the wheel you decide to cover will be based on your analysis of previous results. Placing neighbour bets is a quick way to cover sections of the wheels. If the casino you visit doesn’t place them for you, take the time to memorise the neighbours of each number and practise placing the bets at home. You can draw out a roulette layout on paper.

Whilst playing sit next to the wheel. You will be able to hear any instruction from the pit staff. Often the inspector or pit boss will remind the dealer to change his spin. You then know to expect a period of random spins and can stop betting until the dealer reverts back to. autopilot. A good indication of a change of spin is a variation in the pitch of the ball. Listen to the ball spinning and familiarise yourself with the pitch of a regular spin from your dealer. Wait until the ball is spinning and you’re sure it’s a regular spin before betting.

If you start winning a lot of money be prepared for retaliation from the casino. The usual reaction is to switch dealers so it helps to have data on several dealers so that you can continue playing. Also watch out for stepping up, a technique that the casino will use to get back your winnings.

Finding the dealer signature takes time and patience. But if you succeed you’ll get one more autograph to add to your collection – the casino manager’s on your winning cheque.
